I'm worried about Dot
I can smell that smell on her head again. The one that was on that other doll whose hair turned to powder. I'm starting to think that I won't be able to save my bright baby. :(
Jesus, please show me what to do?

I just shipped off all the fashion dolls I could've experimented with, but is there a way to get the last little roots out of her head? You're going to be covering it all up with a wig anyway, so what do you think? Can you dig them out?
From what I've been learning 1) it's really weird that it would be happening to a doll as young as Dot and 2) it sounds like it really is the hair residue making the smell and not Dot herself (yaay!)
Not that you need to be doing surgery on another doll, but that's what I found. If you think that isn't the case, don't do it. I won't be offended. But that was all I could find.:(
Good luck. Thinking good thoughts for you and Dot.

And yeah, I know she's young for it. They must have used old stuff to make her.
Thanks so much for the looking, Wendy.

Don't worry about the rest of her. The kind of vinyl/plastic making up the rest of Dot is completely different from the type they use for hair, and it breaks down differently (it tends to go sticky, and if THAT happens, you just let me know 'cause I read all about how to fix that! I are an expert now!). She isn't going to suddenly turn to powder on you, promise. :) (crossing heart and hoping to spit)
So you play with her all you want and send her big hugs from Aunt Wendy in Colorado. 'k? And quit worrying. Your little bright baby is going to be just fine. :)

I know I say "use acetone" for everything, but it WORKS. 8D
