Doll dislikes and likes
I don't like:
-Popularity
-Exclusivity
-Portrayals of hurtful things
-Too many dolls!
-Too much realism (eg: graphic anatomical correctness)
-Long hair
-Blond hair
-Barbie and Bratz
-Huge breasts
I do like:
-Individuals
-Familiarity
-Possibility
-The underdog doll
-Eyes that are smaller than the mouth
-Ears that stick out and look real
-Big feet with toes
-Large, lifelike hands
-Simple faces that I can interpret
-Lifelike proportioned heads
-The chance to be creative
-Dolls given me by friends, even if they don't fit my usual likes
-Having something unique, but easily emulated
-Dolls of my characters
-Brown eyes
-Red or dark hair
-Shorter hair
-Candace (my bald, blind barbie)
-Dolls of any of my dislikes who belong to my friends
-Dolls of friends who are 'Real'
-Non Caucasian or Oriental features
Lol. I'll shut up now.

I take it all back.
I hate them. I hate the fandom, I hate the elitist attitudes, I hate the stupidity and willful ignorance, and I hate the thought that just because something is expensive/exclusive/resin makes it good.
I love my dolls, but I am finding I despise BJD people (and I mean people who ONLY play with BJDs for whatever reasons, not those who like all kinds of kids including BJDS).
I take it all back. I am so sorry I ever doubted you and your experiences with elitism and snobbery from these people. I'm sorry I ever thought/said it couldn't be that bad. I take it all back. They are awful.
I'm sorry I ever defended them. (hanging head)

First, I can't get that Ebay link to work, but I wanna see it. Item number please?
Second, yeah, it's people's reaction to little Shawnee and the rest of her Goodreau sisters that set off my rage. I don't get it. Seriously, I don't. But that was just the start, from there it went to "Oh, well you play with Obitsus, and what the hell is that cat thing on your blog anyway?"
And for the first time, I found myself backhanded by exactly what you've been describing all along, Raumfee. And I feel so bad that I didn't take you seriously and just thought "well, it can't be that bad because I don't see it." (shaking head)
After I'm finished with the couple of transactions I have going on on DoA I am washing my hands of the place. I have nothing in common with 90% of the people on there because I play with the dolls I LOVE and I don't care what they're made of, how much they cost, or what the nationality of their designer/maker was.
I guess I am just completely shocked that adults who play with DOLLIES could think they were somehow superior because their dollies are expensive/foreign/exclusive/gay-crossdressing-vampires.
GAH! I never fail to give humankind the benefit of the doubt, and I never cease to be completely dissapointed. Every. Single. Time. (sigh)
I am so grateful to have you and Jai, because if I didn't have you two to rant and whine to about this, I don't know what I would do. Thanks for being so different from the other dolly people, you guys. Thanks for loving them ALL and accepting them just for what they are, and for NOT being insane, elitist jerkwaffles like so many others. ROWR!!!

*gives you a massive hug* Most of the people at that forum aren't adults. They average in the late teens to early twenties range. But yeah. *more hugs* I'm sorry.

In solidarity with you guys I'll be giving DoA the ol' eff-you as well. No more participation. The place will stand for me as a resource library/marketplace ONLY. I've seriously been "STFU n00b'd" too many times to even care or strike up conversation/friendship with anyone there.
Hey Wendy, do you use any instant messaging programs?
(it's Jai, for reals)

I think I found the centaur girl, and you're right, Tarna is about a million times cuter. For $100 I wonder if she'll sell (not Tarna, the one on Ebay. Tarna is MINE and anyone who wants one will just have to beg you for one. I wouldn't part with her for even $1000 dollars!)
Did I tell you that years ago I made a Barbie Centaur? I used the palomino horse and a blond Barbie, a jewelers saw and a lot of modeling clay. :) She came out pretty good. I dressed her up and gave her to a friend of mine's daughter who loved her a lot. I should start doing creative stuff like that again. I dunno why I stopped crafting stuff. Hmm.
Wheat weavings! I need to do more wheat weavings! I will. I'll get some wheat this Fall! Maybe I'll mail you one. :-D
Um... anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, THAT forum.
Yeah, they're kids, but that doesn't excuse their behavior, because right now I am really enchanted with Dollfie Dreamland, and they're mostly kids too. You can post ANY kind of doll there. They're all accepted! It's wonderful! I am so happy that I found them. I'm going to start posting photostories there because it's a safe place where ALL of my kids can play and no one is going to give me any "what IS that thing on your blog" kind of problems.
Oh, I'll still post to the blog. No worries. I might just take my e-mail off of it, though. :)
Anyway, thank you for the hugs and for Zerbert. Made my evening a whole lot nicer. Thank you. :) *hugs back*

Was the one you saw brownish with ivy and REALLY long silly hair?
No, you hadn't told me about your centaur. LOL. My friend Shelley made one too for my dollar store challenge. And my other friend Icey did one from a barbie horse and a dollar store bratz doll. She even used sculpy to make that one's upper body.
Yay! Zerbert has done his job! I have one of those pets, a tigar kitten named Vic. I've had him nearly as long as I've had my Useless Blob, Fred.
