Wistful dollies

I admired the Nats for a couple of years, but never thought that I would have one. Then I found that a nearby 'quality' toy store carried the Natterer Bye-Bye Dollies. I admired them, but didn't think any further of it till the day that I realized that I had enough birthday money and GST check money to afford one.

All my life I've been trained to believe that I couldn't have fine, beautiful things because they were too expensive and because I didn't need 'fancy' stuff. Even something so simple as a blooming Amarylis bulb can seem too extravagant for me.

Well, I went out and I bought one of those little Nats, and I haven't regretted her once, even though I need a vacuume and new clothes. Jabez is a reminder that, as a creation of God, I am important and worthwile, and her pensive, wistful expression speaks to my soul. Noticing all the differences between her and her accessories and what can be bought here in toy stores, like the roominess and careful finishing of her dress, and the way her toes are different on each slender little foot, not to mention her adorable little ankles and knees, brings me quiet joy. And now my yearning for so many other dolls is stilled. I have my dream doll. I have something good and beautiful. And I thank God.

That is wonderful hon. BTW, Rick didn't get that picture made, but maybe in the next few days, ok?

She's the dark-eyed redhead in the green plaid dress and the fake sheepskin coat.

Did the Bye-Bye Dollies have names?

Yes, they all have names..The one you have is Paris-she is the witch in the Halloween album on the Travel dolls group. I just love those little kids! Here is a picture of my little kids:

I thought that was her ^_^ *squeees at the picture* They're so sweet! I'm thinking some day I might like different outfits for Jabez, but right now the dress she came in seems to suit her just fine. Though, being my kid, she kicked her shoes off as soon as I got her home and hasn't had them on since. I had considered the brunette girl, but she had tights on instead of underpants, and I'd rather my dolls have panties on. Plus Jabez...well she was just right.

And those little strung bodies pose so well even though they've only got five joints, it's amazing.

haha! The first thing I do is strip them down and start sewing..My husband bought me all of these little ones over a period of years..he thought their faces were so cute and childlike! (and they were always a very welcome gift!)

Awwwww. It's so neat when I hear about a husband who likes the dollies that he buys for his wife. Much too cute ^_^

If you ever feel like passing on extra dresses......
