First of all, I was surfing Etsy and found some shops that sell really interesting dolls that rise above the common herd of happy faced, felt-haired critters with sewn on dresses. So I wanted to put links to them here.

Pipodolls My favorite. Love the long noses.

Lucy Pete handmade goods Really like the ribbon hair detail. It's nearly enough to sell me one.

Hug Me Slugs by Elizabeth Ruffing Ahahaha! They're the best!

Zippy Pops Strange little faces, but beautifully made, and her own unique look. I've only seen a dollmaker from Russia make faces remotely similar, though on very different dolls.

GalleryC Again, her own, very unique faces. And some cute outfits.

Mrs McCleary's dolls More very unique faces.

MyMia Fabric Dolls and More The faces on some of these crack me up.

Kelley Corbett The common felt hair and sewn on dress, but her faces and hair are original and cool. So is the amount of work put into individuality.

The Lucky Pebble She hasn't any in stock now, but her Little Girl Friends are very cute and original.

Hope's Art Creations Kimono kids and Costume kids. Look at them. More sewn on clothes and felt hair, but adorable and unique.

Meltingtots Look at those faces. XD

Diane Glady's dolls Crochet patterns for interesting, and some of them original, dolls and their outfits. Dowling Darlings... Mattel eat your heart out.

I like the shop stories of how an artist started by making a doll for their own offspring, and then got asked to make more. And I've often wished that the Pipodolls maker would make a mini version, because those lovely big girls are just too large for me. XD Ah well, Starpounder is my long nosed girl.
